Hi, I'm Adriana. I've been working as a therapist since 2014.
I work on the premise that each person has a unique part of themselves that has the capacity to live a fulfilled and meaningful life. But many of us, especially men, learn from early childhood to adapt to our environment and its demands, often at the expense of our own wellbeing. You may have worked hard to build a career, to be reliable, to keep things moving. And yet there's something underneath that feels stuck or empty.
The work in therapy is about making that part of you visible again. Looking at the habits and patterns that are keeping you stuck, and finding more meaningful ways to be in the world.
I offer a safe, confidential space to tell your story and express what you're carrying. You don't need to be in crisis to reach out. Many men come to me not quite sure where to start, and that's fine.
I work with grief and loss, anxiety, relationship difficulties, low mood, stress and life transitions. I have particular experience in bereavement and in the patterns that form within families across generations.
I work in person, and I find the room itself helps. Trust builds more naturally that way. I do however offer online sessions if that is more practical.
You may discover a more authentic you that has agency and can live the best version of you. This will have a positive effect on your relationships and your life journey.
I am an accredited Psychosynthesis Psychotherapist and Counsellor with the UKCP. I have a private practice where I meet people who are struggling with the impact of traumatic experiences in their lives. Psychosynthesis focusses on harmonising all the different parts of the personality.
My diploma in Integral Somatic Psychology (ISP) developed by Dr. R. Selvam focusses on distributing the energies of overwhelming stress and emotions in the body. This helps the expansion and integration of these energies in order to improve emotional, physical and emotional wellbeing.
I have studied the psychology of being a twin, as I am a twin myself. I work with people who recognise the struggle of finding their true selves, whilst enjoying the special bond with their twin. If you want to explore your relationship with your twin sister of brother, feel free to contact me.
Before my journey as a counsellor and psychotherapist, I worked in the disability services in Higher Education. I gained a Teacher Qualification, a Social Sciences and Pedagogical Studies Masters followed by a Conversion diploma in Psychology.
