Terms Of Use

Effective Date: 28th March, 2025

Last Updated: 5th February, 2026

Welcome to the Men’s Counselling Service (MCS) website. By using this website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our site.

1. About Us

MCS is a directory and introductory platform connecting individuals with independent counsellors. MCS is a technology provider; we do not provide counselling, medical, or therapy services directly. All counsellors listed are independent practitioners and are not employees, partners, or agents of MCS.

2. Using Our Website

By accessing our website, you agree to:

Use the website only for lawful purposes.

Provide accurate and truthful information if prompted to submit any details.

Refrain from copying, distributing, or reproducing any part of the website’s content without prior written permission.

Avoid any activity that may disrupt the functionality or security of the website.

Enquiry Intent: Users must only submit enquiries to counsellors on this service if they have a genuine intention to book a session or ask a relevant question to inform a booking. Misuse of the enquiry function for marketing, spam, or any other purpose is strictly prohibited.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the website if we believe there has been a breach of these Terms of Use.

3. Disclaimer of Liability

MCS provides information and connects individuals with counsellors. Consequently:

We do not guarantee the suitability, safety, or effectiveness of any counselling provided by practitioners listed on our platform.

Independent Conduct: We are not responsible for the conduct, clinical advice, or actions of any counsellor. Your relationship with a counsellor is governed by a separate agreement between you and them.

User Responsibility: All decisions regarding seeking counselling services through our platform are your sole responsibility.

3.1 Absolute Disclaimer of Liability
MCS acts solely as an introductory directory. Under no circumstances is MCS responsible or liable for: Any advice, treatment, or clinical work conducted by a therapist found via this platform. Any inaccuracies, errors, or omissions in any articles or counsellor profiles on the website. All content is for general information only and is not medical advice.

4. Directory Listings and Website Content

MCS strives to ensure all counsellors listed on our platform are qualified and registered. However:

Registration: At the point of registration, MCS requires that all counsellors are listed with a PSA (Professional Standards Authority) regulated register.

Limited Verification: Beyond initial registration checks, counsellor profiles are based on information provided by the counsellors themselves. We do not verify all details provided by counsellors beyond the information required for their initial listing. Users are encouraged to conduct their own due diligence before engaging with any counsellor.

Reporting: If you believe a counsellor’s information is incorrect or misleading, please report it to us at: [email protected].

4.1 For Information Only: All content on this website (including articles by MCS or guest therapists) is provided for general informational purposes only. It is not medical advice and must not be treated as a substitute for a professional consultation.

4.2 No Reliance: Under no circumstances should you act, or refrain from acting, based solely on the information provided on this website. You do so entirely at your own risk. User Responsibility: All decisions made about seeking counselling services through our platform are your sole responsibility.

4.3 Content Accuracy: MCS is not liable for any inaccuracies, errors, or omissions in any articles or counsellor profiles. The views expressed by contributors are their own and do not necessarily reflect the views of MCS.

5. Intellectual Property

All content on the MCS website, including but not limited to text, images, logos, graphics, and software, is the property of MCS or its licensors.

• You may view, download, and print materials for personal use only.

• You may not copy, distribute, or commercially exploit any content without written permission.

6. Third-Party Links

The website may include links to third-party websites. MCS is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party websites. You access these links at your own risk.

7. Privacy

Your use of the website is subject to our Privacy Policy. Please review this policy to understand how we collect and use your personal data. Please note that MCS operates a data minimisation policy; enquiry data is transmitted to your chosen counsellor and then purged from our website servers within a short timeframe.

8. Limitation of Liability

For the avoidance of doubt, MCS is a directory, not a healthcare provider. We accept zero liability for any clinical outcomes, personal injury, or death arising from services provided by independent therapists listed on this site. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MCS’s total liability for any claims arising out of or in connection with your use of the website is limited to:

For general users: A maximum of £100.

For subscribing counsellors: The total amount of subscription fees paid by you to MCS in the 6 months prior to the claim.

Statutory Exception: As required by English law, nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by MCS's direct corporate negligence (e.g. a physical safety issue at our premises) or for our own fraudulent acts.

9. Changes to the Website

We may update or discontinue any part of the website without prior notice. These Terms of Use will continue to apply to the updated or discontinued version of the website.

10. Changes to These Terms

MCS reserves the right to update these Terms of Use at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with the updated “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from your use of the website will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
