User Disclaimer Last Updated: 9th February, 2026
This disclaimer applies to your use of the Men’s Counselling Service (MCS) website. By using this website, you agree to the terms outlined below.
1. Nature of the Service
MCS is a platform designed to connect individuals with qualified and registered counsellors. MCS is a directory service only and does not provide counselling or clinical services directly. All services are delivered independently by counsellors listed on our platform.
2. No Guarantees
While MCS requires counsellors to warrant that they are qualified and registered with recognised professional bodies at point of signing up for MCS (such as the BACP or UKCP), we do not guarantee:
The clinical suitability, availability, or effectiveness of any counsellor.
That the information on a counsellor's profile is current or exhaustive.
The outcome of any therapeutic engagement. It is your sole responsibility to verify a counsellor’s credentials and suitability before beginning treatment.
3. Professional Independence
Counsellors listed on MCS operate as independent practitioners. MCS is not a party to any agreement made between you and a counsellor. We are not responsible for the conduct, clinical advice, or professional services provided by counsellors, nor for any disputes that may arise during your private engagement with them.
MCS is not responsible for:
The conduct, advice, or services provided by counsellors listed on the platform.
Any disputes, claims, or issues that may arise between you and a counsellor.
The counsellors operate independently and under the guidelines of their respective professional bodies. Please ensure you are satisfied with the counsellor’s credentials and approach before proceeding.
4. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MCS shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from your use of this website, website content, or your engagement with a listed practitioner. Statutory Exception: Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits MCS’s liability for death or personal injury caused by our own proven negligence, or for fraudulent misrepresentation.
5. No Emergency Services
If you are in crisis or at risk of harm, do not use this website. Please contact emergency services or a crisis helpline immediately:

6. Data Privacy
MCS facilitates the initial contact between you and a counsellor. When you use our enquiry form, your data is transmitted to the counsellor. MCS does not permanently store or permanently monitor the content of these clinical enquiries. Once transmitted, the counsellor becomes the Independent Data Controller of that information. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details on how your data is processed.
7. No Therapeutic Relationship
Using this website or sending an enquiry through MCS does not establish a therapeutic relationship with MCS. Any therapeutic relationship is formed solely and directly between you and the counsellor you choose to engage.
