We understand that looking for a Counsellor/Psychological Therapist can be a daunting task so we hope we can put your mind at ease and help you make the right decision for you.
We believe that the therapeutic relationship is born out of trust and meeting/talking with us initially on a non-obligatory basis will give you we hope, a sense of who we are and whether we are suitable to your counselling needs.
As a well-established small practice that has been growing and evolving over the last few years we have met the needs of many clients, and have seen a rise in men stepping forward and reaching out for therapy. By offering a range of inhouse specialisms to support you. We have been able to facilitate this by drawing on the expertise of Associate Counsellors who support us in our practice and have the same principles, values and ethos we share that make this practice a safe facilitative environment to help clients work towards achieving their goals and making positive changes.
We work with many issues
Anxiety, Stress, Depression, OCD, Trauma (including but not limited to, PTSD, Panic Attacks, Child Sexual Abuse, Sexual Abuse), Bereavement, Abandonment, Separation, Relationships, Suicide Ideation/Intent, Emotional Eating Disorders, Self-Harm. Our theoretical approach encompasses learnings from the Humanistic, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies, meaning our theoretical approach is known as Integrative Therapy.
We have been established in our local area for just over 10 years now, and can also adjust our approach to include: EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), Rewind & Flash Technique (part of EMDR), Trauma responses from both the body (somatic - bottoms up) and the brain (top down), Bereavement, Drug & Alcohol related issues, Couple's Therapy, as well as low self esteem, anxiety, rumination, stuck thoughts, ACE's (adverse childhood experiences), CSA (childhood sexual abuse), LGBTQIA, Depression, Suicidal Ideation, Walk & Talk therapy (weather permitting) and more not mentioned here.
Our associate therapists are qualified and can work with children (from the age of 6), Teens & Pre Teens, Families & Psychosexual Therapy. Please enquire if you require more information on any of the above, as these charges may differ from our core fee's.
Both Amanda and Sharon are also trained and qualified as CPCAB level 5 Trauma Counsellors and work with psychological and somatic response interventions. They work with all adults and are able to offer their services to meet the requirements of legal and others recommending bodies that are seeking a specialist trauma service for their clients in terms of insurance and reporting.
We are both full members of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and as such adhere to the Ethical Framework.
We are fully insured and take our professionalism very seriously by undertaking regular supervision and are constantly enhancing our training through continued professional development, by attending training updates, workshops and seminars.
Data Protection Act 1998. We take your confidentiality and Data we hold about you very seriously and as such are registered with ICO (Information Commissioner's Office) which is a legal requirement for all Counsellors.
Based just 10 minutes from junction 25 of the M25 we are centrally located to help men from North London, Hertfordshire and Essex as we straddle all three areas.
