You don't have to carry everything on your own.
If you're reading this, chances are something hasn't felt right for a while.
Maybe work has become relentless. You're feeling burnt out, struggling in your relationship, finding family life difficult, dealing with grief or loss, or simply feeling the weight of everyday life. You might know exactly what's going on, or you may just have a sense that something needs to change.
Many of the men I work with have spent years being the one others rely on. They keep going, put themselves last and tell themselves they'll deal with things later. But "later" often never comes.
Not all loss is about bereavement. Sometimes it's the end of a relationship, a career change, becoming a father, children leaving home, retirement, changes in your health, or letting go of the future you thought you'd have. Life keeps moving, and we don't always give ourselves the time or space to make sense of what we've been through.
There isn't a right or wrong way to come to counselling. Some men arrive knowing exactly what they want to talk about. Others simply know they can't keep carrying things the way they have been. Wherever you are, we'll start there.
Sometimes you just need to get something off your chest. Sometimes you want to untangle your thoughts. Sometimes you simply need someone who will listen without judgement.
That's the space I aim to offer.
Many men choose to begin with a Walk and Talk session. Being outdoors and walking side by side can make those first conversations feel more natural and less intimidating than sitting face to face. Others prefer to meet in my counselling room or online. However we meet, we'll work at a pace that feels right for you.
Alongside my professional training, life has taught me that we all face times when we need someone to listen. Those experiences have shaped the way I work, helping me meet each person with honesty, compassion and without judgement.
People often tell me they find me easy to talk to. I don't believe counselling has to feel formal or intimidating. My aim is to create a relaxed, confidential space where you can be yourself, speak openly and feel genuinely heard.
If you've been thinking about counselling for a while, perhaps this is your sign to take that first step.
I offer a free 15-minute introductory chat where we can talk about what's been going on, answer any questions you have and see whether we're the right fit.
You don't have to have everything figured out before you get in touch.
You don't have to do this on your own anymore.
I believe the most important part of counselling is the relationship between you and your therapist. Before any techniques or theories can help, you need to feel safe, comfortable and accepted. My role is to offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can talk openly, at your own pace, and feel genuinely heard and understood.
If you're considering counselling for the first time, I understand it can feel like a big step. It's natural to feel anxious or unsure about what to expect. You don't have to have everything figured out before you begin, and you don't have to do it alone. I'll be there to support you as we work through things together, one conversation at a time.
I am an accredited Integrative Psychodynamic Therapist with the NCPS. My training has given me an understanding of a range of therapeutic approaches, allowing me to adapt our work to your individual needs. I believe every person is unique, and therapy should reflect that.
Alongside my private practice, I have volunteered with Cruse Bereavement Support, helping people navigate grief and loss, and I am also a qualified Hypnotherapist. These experiences have broadened my understanding of the different challenges people face and the importance of meeting each person with compassion and empathy.
Above all, I want you to feel supported, respected and never judged. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, loss, relationships, low self-esteem or simply feeling stuck, we'll work together to help you better understand your experiences and move towards a more fulfilling life.
If you have any questions or would like to know more, please get in touch by email. We can arrange a friendly, no-obligation conversation to see whether working together feels right for you.
