My counselling room is based in Highwoods, Colchester, conveniently located close to the A12 for easy access. Whether you are travelling from Colchester town centre or surrounding areas, my location is easily reachable. I have an allocated parking space for clients, ensuring a hassle-free visit.
If life’s pressures feel overwhelming, I offer a safe, confidential, and compassionate space to help you find clarity and develop practical strategies for coping and moving forward.
My counselling approach is person-centred, meaning I place great value on building a relationship based on trust, respect, and honesty. I believe real change happens when you feel understood in a space free of judgement. With my integrative training, I can tailor therapeutic approaches—such as CBT, psychodynamic, existential, and humanistic—to best suit your individual needs.
I have experience working with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and neurodiversity. I also support clients through significant life events such as bereavement, separation, job loss, health diagnoses, and major transitions. I have particular experience supporting men with issues around emotional expression, identity, masculinity, fatherhood, low self-esteem, and the societal expectations that can make it harder to seek support or show vulnerability. I offer both short- and long-term therapy, and we can meet weekly or fortnightly depending on what works for you. Whether you're navigating a recent change or facing long-standing challenges, counselling can provide a space to make sense of things and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
For five years, I worked in specialist services supporting individuals affected by complex trauma. This gave me a deep understanding of how trauma can impact emotional well-being, relationships, identity, and day-to-day life. I bring a sensitive, grounded, and non-judgmental approach to this work, recognising that each person’s experience is unique and deserves to be met with compassion and care.
I qualified in 2017 with a counselling degree from the University of Suffolk and have over eight years of experience supporting a range of clients through diverse life events and challenges. I’m also a registered member of the BACP, committed to ethical practice, regular supervision, and ongoing professional development.
My role is to support you in understanding your experience, building self-awareness, and exploring ways to move forward that feel right for you. Sessions are client-led — you set the pace and focus, and I’m here to guide the process, offering perspective, tools, and a space where you can think things through without assumptions or expectations.
I offer counselling for men and others experiencing a range of challenges, with particular experience in anxiety, depression, trauma and complex trauma, neurodiversity (including autism and ADHD), and life transitions such as bereavement, separation, and health-related changes. I also support issues around masculinity, identity, emotional expression, and low self-esteem. With formal training and years of experience in these areas, I provide a compassionate, tailored approach to help you navigate difficulties and find practical ways forward.
