People often come to see me when pushing through on their own no longer seems to help. You may understand what's going on intellectually, but still feel tense, flat, or quietly unhappy day to day, without a clear sense of how to shift it.
I often work with professional men in their 30s who are outwardly functioning but inwardly struggling, often with anxiety, stress, sadness, or a sense of being stuck that's hard to explain. Many of my clients are thoughtful, capable, and self-aware, yet feel constantly on edge or low despite things appearing fine on the surface.
My aim as a therapist is to help you make sense of what's happening beneath the surface, so you can feel more grounded, understood, and at ease with yourself.
How I work
I offer a calm, steady space where you don't have to perform or have things figured out. I'll listen closely, ask questions that help you explore your experience, and offer reflections or new perspectives when they feel useful. We'll work at your pace, for as little or as long as you need.
My training is in integrative therapy, which means I can draw on different ways of working depending on your needs and preferences. Sometimes we might focus on what's happening in the present. At other times, it can be useful to explore the past, if this feels helpful for you. I often draw on attachment theory as a way to understand how early relationships continue to shape how we experience emotions, closeness, and ourselves in adult life.
The first session is a standalone introductory meeting where we can get to know each other and work out if we're a good fit. From there, the work moves at your pace. I focus on building trust first, softening difficult areas gradually, and working collaboratively rather than diving straight into anything intense.
- Diploma in Integrative Counselling (Minster Centre)
- Registered member of the BACP
- Previously a counsellor at the Centre for Better Health in Hackney
I offer counselling and therapy for men experiencing anxiety, stress, and low mood, as well as those feeling stuck, under pressure at work, or struggling with self-esteem or relationships. My work is also informed by attachment theory, supporting men to understand patterns in how they relate to themselves and others.
