Maybe you’ve been powering through, keeping busy, putting on a brave face. But underneath it all, things just don’t feel right. You might feel constantly on edge, flat, angry, or numb. Maybe you're stuck in patterns that aren't working anymore - like shutting down, pushing people away, or turning to things that help you cope in the moment but leave you feeling worse long-term.
If any of this sounds familiar, you're not alone. These feelings often link back to unprocessed trauma, difficult early experiences, or the build-up of stress and pressure over time. While addiction, burnout, or emotional shutdown can feel like personal failure, they're often the body's way of trying to survive pain that's never been given space.
A Different Kind of Therapy I offer down-to-earth, straight-talking therapy that cuts through the jargon. Whether we work online or out in nature through Walk & Talk sessions, my aim is to make therapy feel approachable and real. No judgement. No pressure to "fix" yourself. Just space to explore what's going on and what you want to change.
I also offer longer outdoor therapy sessions - half or full days in Cumbria and the Yorkshire Dales - for men who want time to slow down, breathe, and do deeper work away from the noise.
