You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from counselling. Sometimes, one well-focused conversation is enough to bring clarity, perspective, and a sense of direction, especially when something in life feels stuck or unresolved.

I’m Suzanne, a BACP-accredited counsellor and supervisor with over 25 years’ experience. I like to work online and by phone, offering a confidential, supportive space for men who want to think clearly and move forward.

Much of my understanding of men’s mental health comes from long-term work in male prison environments. That experience has shaped how I work: many men want something grounded, respectful, and purposeful. That said, I have worked extensively with men from a huge range of backgrounds and walks of life.

Alongside ongoing counselling, I offer structured single-session and short-term therapy. This approach suits men who want focused professional input around a specific issue, decision, or pressure point, without committing to long-term therapy. Sessions are carefully designed and may include pre-session questionnaires, email support, and a clear post-session summary with practical action points. Further sessions are available if needed.

My therapeutic approach combines Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, and is always non-judgemental, accepting, and collaborative. I work with you at your pace, focusing on what will be most useful for you. This means understanding patterns, changing behaviours, or simply making sense of where you are.

Alongside my clinical work, I spent 18 years as a Zen Buddhist lay monk and have a long-standing interest in non-duality and contemplative practice. For clients with spiritual or philosophical leanings, this can add an additional layer of depth, while remaining practical, grounded, and led by your needs.

I offer a free 15-minute call to talk things through, explain how I work, and help you decide whether this approach feels right for you.
